Keep from Being Overcooked!

“Okay, it’s like you’re cooking in the kitchen. You always use the spices in the left cabinet. That’s all you know. I also cook in the kitchen. I always use the spices in the right cabinet. Always. That’s all I know. But now that we come together, you can show me the spices in your cabinet and I can show you the spices in mine. Together we can make some new recipes. Some delectable dishes that are scrumptiously better as well as some dishes that achingly are not.
I’m not telling you to change. I’m just showing you another way of looking at things.” She said very aware that change really is inevitable.

“I don’t want to know” He said.

The ability to think differently comes from desire, insight from experience, as well as the motivation stirred within you by the people in your world. Now the actual change, the actual switch from a bad habit to a good habit has to come from a willpower within. We all have it. Willpower is our energy. We create it.
An addict usually kicks his habit when he has some sort of life-altering experience that brings on a epiphany for change.
What you put into your body and the world you surround yourself in is determined by your actions.
Your actions are determined by your thoughts. What determines your thoughts?

Our soul you would think is where we hold our faith and beliefs which dictate our ethics and how we achieve our goals. This all sounds like too much!

   I understand wanting to change our lives can seem overwhelming. However, changing the way we think is merely a series of focused choices, that create habits and POOF! the ball has started to roll.

Most runners or athletic folks I know have mentioned to me that getting off their tukus is the hardest part of working out and countless people can relate when saying the hardest part of waking up is getting your head lifted up and off that sound comfy pillow.

So to lift your mind up and off that pillow of languid life, we have prescribed a few new habits you may implement into your daily regime that will be the butterfly effect of your new prosperous satisfying and fulfilled life.

The ABC’s of Thinking

Affirmations – Every morning find something great to tell yourself. It can either be about yourself or your goal for the day!

“I have the best earlobes!”  or  ”Business flows to me generously!”  Be sure to place yourself on the winning pedestal, not the start line as in “I want lots of money.” which actually is telling your subconscious self that in fact you don’t have lots of money and you’re broke! Uhoh!  Keep yourself in a state of having already accomplished what you wanted. ”I am so rich!”

Pictures and writing your affirmation down also helps. It really can be as corny or serious as you like. You may not believe yourself upon first stating these affirmations, however let not that hold you back. It’s merely your judgement or newness to being so nice to yourself that throws us off. Whatever you may feel, accept it and move on, continue to practice your affirmation and soon you will believe it because it will be true.  You willed it to be true. Keep from thinking about HOW, just focus on the actual affirmation in its simplicity.  Let it sink in and lift your spirits bringing your your affirmation and so much more throughout the day!

Being Positive-  Being positive is easy when you live in a perfect world. I however do not, so the challenges in work, relationships and more can take a toll.  A very neat little trick you can do is to edit your vocabulary. Remove the words DON’T, CAN’T and WON’T from your verbiage completely.  You may have to place a sticky with these blacklisted words handy, but they are conjunctions which means they are a combination of two other words; Can’t is can not, Don’t is do not and so on and so on. And in all reality, if you can not do something, ipso facto you can do something.   The extra step you will end up having to take to avoid these words will actually enhance your mind to the options and possible solutions you want and need.

Change Something- Create the habit of change within you. Many times the challenge is getting started itself. So by changing one small thing per day, like your route to the office for example, you are adding an element of possible positivity. Though having a routine is great, it can become stagnant and cause upsetting effects. Make the tiniest change and see how great the difference can feel. Soon that stale redundant dryness to life is gone and wonderful new feelings will be the habits to the refreshed spectacular you!
